Martyn Moore, director of NorthLight Media, said, “We are now producing work for the city’s biggest organisations and so I decided the films needed a showcase separate to the company’s main website. It’s good to name-check the city even though we have clients from France and Spain. Our Spanish bra-fitting film even stars a Peterborough girl (see above).

“Video web content is much in demand and high-quality film production for marketing and training has never been more affordable.”

NORTHLIGHT Media, the Peterborough video production company, has just finished its first 2012 project.

The six-minute film was produced over three days for Cross Keys Homes and was commissioned by the housing association to help promote its successful Shared Ownership scheme.

The film was co-directed by Kharum Kaur of Cross Keys Homes and was shot in Stanground and Donington near Spalding. It was shown at a Shared Ownership event at the Cross Keys Offices on January 19 and can be viewed on the Cross Keys Homes website.

Martyn Moore, who filmed and edited the video, said, “It’s great to work with companies like Cross Keys Homes who understand the power of film to help communicate their messages. They have great ideas, too. Video productions are a lot more affordable than many companies realise and the fact that NorthLight offers great value and quality keeps us busy.”

For more information about the film-making division of NorthLight Media, see www.videopeterborough.co.uk or phone 07768 261276.

AFTER the success of its first boot camp, city PR and marketing agency Media Matters is running a second event for online marketing.
The session takes place on Thursday 9th Feb from 8.30am – 10.30am at the East of England Showground. Places are free but seats must be reserved in advance.

Content includes: tips on how to improve your chances of reaching page one of Google search results when Google keeps changing its algorithm, including Google+ for business; the growing importance of mobile marketing, with a reminder about QR codes and Apps; and e-commerce news for any business selling online products.

“The boot camp is an opportunity for us to share our knowledge with a wider audience than simply our own clients,” explained marketing director Karen McNulty.

“Online marketing has a very real relevance for business but it’s identifying and making use of the right tools for your particular business that is so crucial, otherwise essential budget can be wasted.

“The boot camp aims to keep businesspeople updated with the very latest online news and trends relevant to them. It’s essential for those that recognise the value of online marketing to their company’s growth.”

To register for a place, contact Media Matters’ Angie Bull, email: angie@mediamatters-pr.co.uk or tel: 01733 371363.

David has spent 30 years working with national and international companies predominantly in the consumer market. This business-to-consumer experience means he brings a different perspective to the existing team, which previously consisted mainly of business-to-business marketing professionals.

David’s remit includes working with the account team to provide the best service possible for clients as well as using his experience to broaden the scope of the projects that Smye Holland Associates is able to undertake.

Smye Holland Associates’ director Mike Holland commented: “I’m sure David will be a great asset both to the consultancy and to our clients. His experience and entrepreneurial flair will be invaluable in helping us to continue to thrive in this difficult trading period.”

David said: “I am delighted to be working with Mike and his team. The consultancy has some great clients and I look forward to helping implement current programmes of activity, as well as developing projects in the future for both new and current clients. My largely consumer marketing experience means that I approach communications from a slightly different perspective to the other members of the team, which will lead to more diverse solutions for our clients.”

PETERBOROUGH-based design agency Adrenaline worked with the 2011 Co-operative Cambridge Folk Festival organisers to raise the profile of the event on Sky TV and on the festival’s website.

This year’s festival coverage, which was broadcast on Sky Arts, featured opening clips that were based on Adrenaline designs. These included the logo and animated visual elements of the website such as blossoming flowers and fluttering butterflies. The intro-captions have recently been screened on Sky Arts HD over several nights.

TV has become an essential medium for major world-class festivals to reach a global audience. For this year’s event Neil Jones, the business and marketing manager (arts and recreation) at Cambridge City Council, also commissioned Adrenaline to work with a video production company to launch a new service – FFTV. Neil said. “This year we were excited by the launch of FFTV – a series of videocasts filmed at the Co-operative Cambridge Folk Festival over four days. We were delighted with the feedback from fans and we will be looking to enhance this extra dimension in future years.”

The web-based TV channel captured the real atmosphere across the festival site and featured discussions with the fans and high profile interviews/performances with several of the artists. Adrenaline designed the branding for FFTV and integrated the functionality into the website which they were commissioned to design for the 2011 festival.

Adrenaline Creative is a full service agency with an infectious passion for branding, web/mobile design, copy writing, advertising and graphic design.

Since the company was formed in 2001, the Adrenaline team has worked on creative projects for a diverse range of clients from blue chip brands through to more modest SMEs.

CONFERENCE and event venue Exec Peterborough has been chosen to host this year’s Business Focus Exhibition.

The event, which provides local companies from around Peterborough and Cambridgeshire with a platform to showcase their business, moves to the East of England Showground venue for the first time.

Now in its 11th year, the exhibition is benefiting from a larger venue to become the biggest to date.

For the first time it will incorporate the Environment Showcase to demonstrate the talents of some of the region’s most innovative and successful environmental and sustainable projects.

This year’s event takes place on Wednesday 12 October from 9am until 5pm and aims to build on the 70 companies and 700 visitors who attended in 2010.

The exhibition is being organised by The Peterborough Business Club and the Cambridgeshire Chambers of Commerce.

Helen Bosett, sector co-ordinator at the Chamber, said: “We’re delighted to be holding Business Focus at Exec Peterborough. The move to bigger premises will allow us to host more exhibitors, with greater capacity for bespoke exhibiting arrangements, and a huge amount of free parking for visitors who will find the venue easily accessible from the A1.”

For more details about the event or how your business can book a place, contact 01733 513002 or 01733 370809.

AN estate agency service for buyers and sellers of high-end property, has been launched in Peterborough.

Hurfords will be headed up by founder and director Josh Hurford and will specialise in properties ranging from quaint cottages to country estates in the middle to high-end price bracket across Cambridgeshire, Lincolnshire and Northamptonshire.

Mr Hurford believes a fresh and creative approach to marketing these types of properties is needed and will be using his ten years of experience in this market to help home movers make the most of their property asset.

“With the launch of Hurfords, I am offering sellers the opportunity of taking a new approach to marketing their property,” he said. “Each and every home we are instructed on will be proactively marketed using tools like digital audio tours to really give the homes we are selling the edge in a competitive market.”
