ADVANCE Performance, the specialist running and triathlon stores in Peterborough and Cambridge picked up a bronze award at the British Independent Retailers Association (bira) Awards 2016 – www.bira.co.uk – for Independent Retailer of the Year.
The award, which recognises innovation and forward thinking, was presented by Stax Trade Centres operations director Nigel Wright who described Advance Performance as: “An exciting and unusual family owned business with a strong heritage. They have established themselves as a destination store with customers travelling from within a 50 mile radius and often more to visit their shop. Since starting in 1999, the business has seen a growth of up to 20 per cent year-on-year through their strong team work and in-depth understanding of their customers. Their success is built on strong, old fashioned values combined with a forward-thinking approach, always thinking outside the box.”
Samantha Hale, managing director of Advance Performance

The awards ceremony took place at the bira High Street Conference on 11 May 2016 at Chateau Impney Hotel and Exhibition Centre, Droitwich.
