Marketing and events company moves into photography

WHEN the demand for professional photography at conferences increased, a Peterborough events organiser launched his own corporate photography service to meet it.

Paul David Smith has been an amateur photographer for years and will now turn his love of photography into a service for current and new clients.

Mr Smith told Peterborough Business, “Being a photographer myself it was sometimes disheartening to find the quality and coverage from the freelance photographers we were using wasn’t always the best. We knew that we had the resource in house to do better and the results have already been warmly received by our client base.

“Before launching we did two trial events and asked the client which photos they would like to buy, the ones we took or the freelancer’s (who we paid anyway). Both times our photos were chosen and this told us that we were on to a winner.”

Not quite sure what you mean, Lester. PDS says some of the freelancers he used weren’t any better than him, so he does it himself now. The freelancers were professional and so is he. Which would you use?

  2. Me either, I still go for professional photographer to cover my event so I can expect a professional result as well.
