A SERIES of events aimed at people considering starting their own businesses in Peterbrough has been announced by the Federation of Small Businesses (FSB).

The clinics will also be open to those who have recently started up in business, or who have been trading for a while. They are drop-in format, so prior booking and registration is not required.

Organised jointly by the FSB and Regus Peterborough office solutions, the experts at the event will cover legal matters, accountancy, finance, IT, health and safety, and sales and marketing. Visitors to the event will be able to consult with any of the experts and be given free advice, or answers to specific problems.

Martin Rickman, regional membership manager for the FSB in Peterborough, said, “It is always sad to see new businesses fail because they do not always appreciate the legal requirements of doing business effectively, and they are ill-equipped to penetrate the highly competitive marketplace that exists today.

“This free clinic is aimed at giving them a helping hand to successfully navigate the many pitfalls of starting and running your own business.”

Ask the Expert is being held at the Regus Peterborough offices at Stuart House, St John’s Street, Peterborough, on Thursday June 28, from noon to 5pm.
