Bedding retailer chooses Peterborough for first UK retail outlet

ONE of the UK’s leading bed and bath companies Bedeck has opened a new retail unit at Peterborough Garden Park.

Bedeck has chosen Peterborough to open its first standalone store in the UK, offering bed linen, towels, curtains, pillows, duvets, wallpaper and accessories from well-known names as well as its own brand.

Head of retail Elise Nicholson said, “We’re confident everything we have in store is great value and great quality. Our brands are those people recognise and have confidence in and our team has the expertise to answer your questions and offer advice.

“The Garden Park is a great location and this is a big investment for us. We’re confident our customers will return again and again.”

Established in 1953, Bedeck remains family-owned and is now managed by the third generation of the Irwin family.

The Peterborough store, which has created six new jobs, is the first standalone Bedeck store outside of Northern Ireland. Other units are located in stores such as House of Fraser, Leekes and Bentalls.

Prices range from just £1 for face cloths to more luxurious 600 thread count sateen sheets, made-to-measure curtains and blinds, and Hungarian goose feather and down duvets

Gordon Edington (left), chairman of Peterborough Garden Park, said, “We’re delighted to welcome such a quality retailer to Garden Park. It’s good to see that we can play a role in growing Peterborough by attracting inward investment of this calibre. I’ve no doubt that shoppers will welcome Bedeck with open arms.”
