PETERBOROUGH City Council has signed up to the ‘Skills Pledge’, a commitment to training and people development.
Gillian Beasley, chief executive of the city council, signed the pledge during a conference at the KingsGate Centre in Peterborough on April 29. After committing the council to the Learning and Skills Council initiative, Ms Beasley told business delegates: “I’m anticipating contractions in public spending over the next five, 10, maybe 15 years, so up-skilling is the way the council will continue to deliver good value services.”
