Comptons get behind the Posh

A local estate agent has backed Peterborough United’s commitment to develop young talent and turn them into future stars of London Road.

Market Deeping based Comptons Property Agents has just agreed a one year sponsorship deal with Posh’s under- 13 side.  The announcement comes just a month before Comptons launch their own fund to help community groups – at their annual charitable ball. The deal means that the under-13’s – currently managed by former Posh star Ryan Semple – will receive funding for their kit and equipment.

Comptons partner Russ Compton said he was very proud to be helping up and coming sports people, “We really want to support a range of local groups and organisations through charitable donations – as a company we believe in helping to create opportunities for young people in the community. It’s also great to be working with such a successful club, and who knows we might just help in the development of the next Craig Mackail-Smith!”

Comptons – who sell and rent properties across Peterborough, Stamford and Market Deeping – plan to extend its charity arm by launching the Comptons Fund next month.

The launch will take place at its annual charity ball on September 17th 2011at the East of England Showground.  Last year the event raised over £12,000 for the Help the Household Cavalry Casualties Campaign – which provides support to injured servicemen and women.

In addition – this year will see money being donated to the RAF Benevolent Fund and the Free Kicks Foundation.

When asked how the new Comptons Fund will benefit local organisations, Russ said, “Our charitable fund will mean that for every house we sell we’ll be putting money back into the local community – and supporting projects that need help the most.  Vendors will also get to pick which charity we make a donation to.”

Tickets are still available for Comptons annual charity ball – costing £55 each or £500 for a table of ten and can be booked by contacting Comptons on 01778 343417 or Relocate2here on 0845 643 7352.
