TWO former employees of a national accounting firm have teamed-up to launch their own company.
Tax adviser Sally Winham and chartered certified accountant Paul Hughes worked together in the Peterborough office. When the branch was closed down, they took the decision to set up their own firm, calling on their years of expertise and local knowledge to secure clients.
With three decades of experience between them, business partners Ms Winham and Mr Hughes have learned the value of getting involved in clients’ businesses to enable them to apply their financial knowledge to the best effect.
Mr Hughes said, “It was while we were talking over future plans that we realised we shared the same professional ethos. We both want to make a difference to clients on an on-going basis by looking at the story behind the numbers. By getting involved we find we can add real value to a clients’ business by providing timely management information, ensuring their accounting systems are working effectively and keeping them up to date with legislation and advice relevant to them.”
Winham Hughes provides taxation and accounting services as well as book keeping, payroll and VAT returns, strategic advice and company secretary services. Their clients range from individuals to UK subsidiaries of overseas companies.
“Launching a business is always a challenge but we are confident we have the right approach to build future success on,” said Ms Winham. “Our aim is to be professional, friendly and approachable – to provide a first class accounting service and then to go one step further.”
