Full steam ahead for Saffery Champness Peterborough office expansion

IT’S full steam ahead for chartered accountants Saffery Champness whose move to new, larger premises in Peterborough sees the firm making the most of the new office’s central location.

The Peterborough operation of the top 20 accountancy practice has moved from its base at Stuart House on City Road – where it had been for over fifteen years – to occupy 7,650 sq ft of business space at Unex House on Bourges Boulevard.

The move to the new offices is to accommodate Saffery Champness growth plans for its Peterborough operation which has seen a number of new recruits and promotions this year already announced by partners Stephen Collins and Jane Hill.

As well as additional office space to accommodate an increasing headcount and its breadth of services to clients, the move sees Saffery Champness add a suite of meeting rooms which, in a range of sizes, gives a flexibility of modern business use not available in its previous, older premises.

The move to Bourges Boulevard has many advantages for a practice which serves clients in a wide geographical area which reaches in to Lincolnshire, Cambridgeshire and across to the East Midlands and beyond as well as more local businesses, charities and private individuals, according to partner, Stephen Collins.

He says: “Location, location, location is not just the estate agent’s mantra. While Peterborough is far better served for transport links than many towns and cities in this part of the country, these new offices see us in a location in which some of the city’s highest profile businesses and professional service firms operate.

“We are all looking forward to, physically, being at the heart of the city centre’s business community and our move is a vote of confidence in the enduring commercial success of Peterborough – a city which has always responded to the challenges of economic change down the centuries.”

Saffery Champness partners, Stephen Collins and Jane Hill are joined at Unex House by 36 staff.
