ACTIVE 8 IT, the Peterborough-based computer systems specialist, has secured a £1million contract with the babycare giant Kiddicare to implement support systems to ten new stores around the country.
Active 8 IT secured the contract against opposition from a large multi-national company by coming out significantly more cost effective and flexible in approach.
The three-year contract is to install a fully managed Citrix solution into ten new superstores, which will initially employ 30 to 40 staff at each location. Active 8 IT will also supply all the dedicated support and utilise its ‘cloud’ backup solution via its Peterborough-based data centre.
Lee Bennelick, managing director of Active 8 IT, said, “This is a major contract for us and one we are extremely proud to secure. Beating a multi-national IT giant to the post shows that we can compete with anyone, and proves that we are not only able to offer local quality but also provide a truly national service.
“Our new offices in central Peterborough have enabled us to develop a ‘state of the art’ data centre and server room, as well as giving us plenty of space for expansion. All of which has proved ideal to provide the required support and infrastructure that this type of project demands.
“These are undoubtedly exciting times for us with many opportunities on the horizon. The Kiddicare contract proves we are able to offer the ideal IT and Data solution to not only local based clients but also those that operate nationally.”
