Peterborough businesses find something to laugh about

PETERBOROUGH Chamber of Commerce has announced the return of its Comedy Night and Black Tie Dinner, which will bring together some of the city’s leading businesses for an evening of entertainment and fundraising in aid of Peterborough Cathedral.

The black-tie event will be held on Friday 27 June at the Orton Hall Hotel and will include after-dinner entertainment from Johnnie Casson. The popular comedian has appeared on stage alongside Des O’Connor and Bruce Forsyth and on many well-known TV shows, including his own show on Sky One.

John Bridge OBE, chief executive of Cambridgeshire Chambers of Commerce, said, “There is renewed confidence across our local economy and businesses are ready to celebrate the resilience they have shown over the last five years. Some companies have already signaled their intention to use the event to provide a staff incentive to motivate their team or thank key personnel for going above and beyond what is expected of them.”

Tickets include a drinks reception on arrival, a three-course meal with wine on the table. The event will also raise money for Peterborough Cathedral, the Chamber’s nominated charity of the year, with a charity raffle in aid of their Peterborough 900 Development Campaign.

The Comedy Night and Black Tie Dinner takes place on Friday 27 June 2014 from 7.00pm at the Orton Hall Hotel, Peterborough PE2 7DN.
