Roythornes bolsters senior team with experienced business development appointment

ROYTHORNES Solicitors has appointed a new business development director to support the firm’s long-term strategy for growth.

Lisa Cawdron joins the senior management team of the firm from national contractor Willmott Dixon. Lisa previously spent more than 20 years in the legal profession in the East Midlands. As a partner, she headed up the commercial property team at a Nottingham law firm, before becoming their business development director. That firm became part of Shakespeare Martineau, where Lisa continued as head of business development across the enlarged practice.

Following her move into the construction sector in 2016, Lisa was responsible for business development for Willmott Dixon in the East Midlands and supported the company’s strategic regional growth.

Ms Cawdron will be based at the Roythornes Nottingham office, which has seen exponential growth since its relocation in 2016. Her role is firm-wide covering the head office in Spalding and offices in Alconbury and Peterborough.

Ms Cawdron said of her new role, “I have known managing director Vember Mortlock for some time, as well as several other members of the firm’s senior team, and their clear ambition and long-term strategy means it is a really exciting time to join the firm. There is a real sense of company-wide buy-in to this plan which is communicated at all levels, and I look forward to being a part of it.

“Roythornes has an outstanding reputation for delivering high-profile work within the region and with a strong focus on agriculture and rural estates, the food sector and commercial property. Part of my role will be to take that reputation and continue to amplify it on a national scale, without losing touch of our East Midlands roots.

“I am very much looking forward to embedding myself within the team over the coming months and utilising my expertise in the property sector at MIPIM (global property event) in March as part of Team Lincolnshire and Team Nottingham.”

Vember Mortlock added, “Lisa is an incredibly talented, forward-thinking and dedicated professional and we are absolutely thrilled she has joined Roythornes. Her extensive background in business development, especially within the legal sector, makes her a valuable addition to our senior team. I have no doubt she will bring with her a wealth of knowledge we can draw upon as we progress with our overall vision for the firm.”

Roythornes is a top 150 national law firm with strategically located offices across the Midlands and East Anglia.
