PETERBOROUGH business leader John Bridge (left) has now been appointed chairman of a group trying to bring new investment to Peterborough.

Mr Bridge is already chairman of Opportunity Peterborough and chief executive of Peterborough and Cambridgeshire Chambers of Commerce.

He now chairs a group responsible for creating a proposal for the Greater Cambridgeshire – Greater Peterborough Local Enterprise Partnership (LEP). LEPs replace regional development agencies and will distribute state funding at a more local level.

The proposed Cambridgeshire and Peterborough LEP covers Peterborough, Fenland, Rutland, Cambridge, Cambridgeshire, East Cambridgeshire, South Cambridgeshire and Huntingdonshire.
