Drop in sick leave at private sector firms

THERE has been a fall in the amount of sick leave that business employees are taking, according to Peterborough accountants GreenStones.

A survey highlighted on the firm’s website has revealed that staff in the private sector were off sick for an average of 6.4 days last year, down from 7.2 days in the year before. One reason for the decline is that employers are applying greater scrutiny to absence trends during the recession. Read the full report by clicking here.
