COLLEEN Gostick will be the new chair of the the Greater Peterborough Partnership (GPP) board.
Ms Gostick is a managing partner of Buckles Solicitors LLP and has lived and worked in Peterborough for 25 years. She has already had a great deal of involvement with GPP through her work with Peterborough’s Regional Economic Partnership (PREP).
Recently named Managing Partner of the Year 2008 by a leading national network of law firms, Ms Gostick was also the Institute of Directors East of England Businesswoman of the Year in 2006.
She has a strong track record of engagement with local businesses including acting as a judge for the Evening Telegraph Business Awards.
Ms Gostick said: “I was delighted to accept the post as GPP chair and I am very much looking forward to leading the GPP board as we continue to build a bigger and better Peterborough. Particularly in these tough economic times, I see it as a key job for the board to create energy, excitement and enthusiasm, and to promote innovative and collaborative approaches to a range of issues. We have so much going for us in Peterborough and every reason to be proud.”
The GPP board brings together senior representatives of the public, private, voluntary, community and faith sectors in Peterborough. The next board meeting on 18 March will focus on growth and regeneration. Speakers will include Steve Compton, Chief Executive of Opportunity Peterborough and Lead Director for the Substantial & Truly Sustainable Growth priority within Peterborough’s Sustainable Community Strategy and also Dr Angus Kennedy OBE, one of the UK’s most influential regeneration professionals.
