Top marketer prefers work to retirement

ONE of the region’s best marketing experts has given up retirement and gone back to work.

Carl Brodie retired two years ago but his love of work and business life has led to him taking up a new role with Peterborough marketing consultancy Smye-Holland.

Mr Brodie said: “The first few months of retirement were great – but I soon became bored and decided I missed the challenges of business life. In the past two years I have done a lot of travelling and played a lot of golf but now I want to get back to work, especially as times have never looked quite so challenging.”

Mike Holland, managing director of Smye Holland Associates, said: “Carl is one of the best-known and most experienced marketers in the region.

“I am delighted that a chance conversation about his retirement has led to an agreement that he will join Smye Holland Associates. He will be working with a number of our clients as we seek to help them combat the recession.”
