Peterborough Charity ‘Little Miracles’ gets fundraising boost from Bauer Media

image001‘LITTLE Miracles’, the Peterborough based charity that supports families with children who have additional needs, disabilities and life limiting conditions has been identified by Bauer Media’s Specialist Charity Committee (SCC) for a brand new fundraising partnership in 2016.

The SCC was established to channel the energy and creativity of its 600-strong Peterborough team, to raise funds and give support to local charities and organisations. Its primary focus is charities and organisations that provide for local children and young people who are disabled and have special needs, or who simply need extra care and guidance.

In the UK, there are 800,000 disabled children under the age of 16 – this is approximately one child in every twenty yet the majority of families Little Miracles connect with often feel like they are alone in their journey. Little Miracles exists to reduce this isolation and to ensure that families get the help that they need in order to support their families fully.

Michelle King of the Little Miracles charity said: “We offer a parent-led support group across Greater Peterborough for over 2,000 families with 6,000 children, who have additional needs, disabilities and life limiting conditions. Our children need a place to play, laugh and create friendships and their families also need to access essential advice, support and care.

“We are so grateful to Bauer Media for raising funds which will be used to buy new equipment for our sensory room and to train 12 additional bereavement counsellors. We could not provide the services that are desperately needed in this area without the help of businesses like Bauer. “The children’s smiles say it all!”

Tim Lucas, Managing Director, Business to Business, Bauer Media, comments: “Our people really enjoy the opportunity to take part in fundraising events and in doing so, to offer a helping hand to disadvantaged children and young people in our community.

“We feel privileged to be involved with Little Miracles and it was a joy to meet some of the children, their parents and staff on a recent visit to Little Miracles at The Spinney, Ravensthorpe. We have some creative plans in the pipeline to offer further support to the charity throughout 2016.”

Bauer Media is also home to Cash for Kids the cause related marketing arm for its network of local radio stations. In 2015 Cash for Kids raised in excess of £15.8 Million and supported over 600,000 sick and underprivileged children in local communities across the UK. Every penny raised stays in the community within which it is raised. Bauer Radio’s Cash for Kids Charity 1122062
